Children CAN do better in mathematics at school. And it is not how hard they study, but HOW they are taught that counts. The answer lies in ScholarMaths™ Methods and System of Teaching. It uses 7 teaching concepts and 4-Steps Programme that CAN dramatically increase your child’s marks in mathematics by guiding them in the right direction with in-depth understanding of concepts and applications. These are developed over 30 years of teaching experience with students of different intelligence and needs from neighbourhood and top schools as well as gifted students and those in IP programmes.
ScholarMaths teaches students a better way of understanding the concept of each topic and its applications that is faster and easier. It builds on what is taught in schools to ensure continuity so that students are not confused.
Learning how to “Read and Analyse” questions is a must for all levels of Mathematics. Children need to be taught specifically the straight forward approach of concept of each topic and then show them how to apply it into the question in logical steps.
There are many ways to get the same answer. ScholarMaths have developed very rich and interesting skills to save time and effort, instead of “going round in circle” or using “trial & error” or “guess & check” methods which are weak in concept applications.
Having the knowledge and skills are not enough if students are not given quality questions to practice. Today, challenging Maths questions are set in a way that combine 2 or 3 chapters into one question and hence, students need to see the link of each chapter.
Few realize the importance of practicing quality papers. This is where ScholarMaths uses its quality materials to teach students how to gain in-depth knowledge as this will develop their logical thinking and interest in Maths.
Students are taught concepts in an interesting and inspiring manner with feelings so that they sink deeper into the minds of students. And at the end of each lesson, students will find that they will have satisfaction as their understanding is clear and different from before.
In addition to excellent materials and method available, the quality of teaching has profound impact on children learning capabilities.
It is the language, examples and the 4-steps programme that ScholarMaths teachers use to inspire children to better understand concepts and applications. The right teaching style CAN make children smile.
Questions are carefully selected from past 30 years papers that are rich in a variety of different types. It is waste of time doing a lot of questions or running through quickly questions after questions without ensuring the students are able to grasp the concept and application. Guiding students in the right direction is vital as this will lead to dramatic improvement in understanding problem sums before and after a lesson.
The 4-phase teaching programme is developed to dramatically increase the students learning and score high marks in examinations.
Phase 1
The first step of Scholarmaths teaching process starts with analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of students based on their last test or examination papers. The focus is on their weak areas.
Students will be taught the Scholarmaths method and skills of the current school topic so that they CAN apply to their current school work. When students learn Scholarmaths method of solving challenging questions, they will acquire the right skills to save time and effort instead of wasting time on guess work. Given students the feel of the value and power of quality materials is phase 1.
Phase 2
This is a lively 2-hour weekly lesson where Scholarmaths expert personally lead the students on a journey that explain how to Read and Analyse, acquire the skills, better way of understanding concepts, the short cuts with examples that provide specific applications for students to practice. Students will get to ask and learn a wide range of skills developed by Scholarmaths.
Phase 3
About 3 weeks before each examination, students will be given carefully selected questions to review their progress and readiness for the examination. This has proven in our past 30 years of experience that it is vital for students to recall the concepts, skills and applications they have learned.
Students will also be introduced to the common mistakes that students make to prevent unnecessary loss of marks due to careless mistakes.
Phase 4
Phase 4 is all about transition to next level. For all existing students, they are encouraged to start ahead for the next year school syllabus. This will ensure students optimum success as this 1 month head start programme in December will have profound impact on their confidence level. It allows students more time for next year revision before the mid year and final examination to recall all previous chapters. Students will be taught the Scholarmaths method on how students CAN apply multiple skills in difficult questions where a question is set from different chapters.
That is why this 1 month head start is added for continuous learning.
Scholarmaths will solve all difficult questions and focus on key concepts of each topic. If students participate in this 1 month head start programme, it is just impossible for them not to produce dramatic results in Mathematics.

This program is all about children having the will to learn and ready to experience the best use of tuition time, opportunity and competitive learning. We will clearly make known to students the importance of these priorities at the start. This requires students to focus on in-depth understanding of concepts, skills and applications instead of rote learning and doing the minimum to pass. If students want to produce dramatic results, they must transcent to in-depth understanding of each topic.
That is the process. Many thousands have benefited over the last 30 years and the numbers are growing
